A fast-paced, not overloaded plot, heart-breaking adventures, a little love and humor, decent special effects and a selection of actors - all this makes "The Mummy" suitable for evening, but not night viewing. About the actors separately. The main role in the film was played by Brendan Fraser. ("George from the jungle", "School ties"). Recently, he "lit up" in the Oscar-winning film "Gods and Monsters", and some predicted a nomination for the best male role... And, in general, Brenden is a pumped-up guy, which, however, allows him to play dramatic roles. And when he shoots with a machine gun, he does not take off his shirt to show off his biceps, as Schwartz and Stallone did in his years... The plot of the film is like this. In ancient Egypt, the priest Imhotep and his lover (the pharaoh's wife) committed a crime out of great love - the murder of the pharaoh himself. For which they were put to death, and Imhotep was buried alive... Already at the beginning of the 20th century, during archaeological excavations in the city of Hamunapra, treasure hunters led by Rick O'Connell (Brendan Fraser) awaken the mummy. Well, it began... 2 hours of solid entertainment... Animations and effects, especially in the final part, are more than enough... In one of the episodes, Rick O'Connell is hanged on the gallows.
