Back in 1772, Barnabas Collins has it all: wealth, power, a grand estate, and the heart of every girl in his town. But the sweet life ends when the enamored witch Angelica Beauchard, not receiving reciprocity, condemns him to a fate worse than death itself - turns him into a vampire and buries him alive. Now, two centuries later, Barnabas is accidentally released from prison. He returns to the Collinwood estate he once owned and finds it in ruins. The pitiful descendants of his family have survived little better than the ancestral nest, and each of them has its own "skeletons in the closet."
