Paranoid realtor Wally (Jason Bateman) and beautiful Cassie (Jennifer Aniston) were the best of friends until Cassie decided on... artificial insemination by the proven and mentally healthy married handsome Roland (Patrick Wilson). The next day after a party in honor of a friend's future child, Wally, with a hangover, does not remember anything about the events of the previous night, as usual, and Cassie leaves Manhattan without saying goodbye.
