The events of the tape take place in the heart of a large Manhattan establishment called The Grill, where cultures from all over the world mix during lunchtime. At the same time, money has disappeared from the cash register, the management is interviewing all employees. Most of them are illegal immigrants, so they are trying to secure their place under the New York sun. Among them is Pedro, a young Mexican who wants more from life than this job. He is in love with Julia, an American waitress who cannot have a relationship with an undocumented foreigner.
