12-year-old rebel Charlotte finds a small spider in an abandoned apartment building. She keeps him in a jar and is happy with his new pet, but he begins to grow rapidly and shows an uncontrollable appetite for blood. When the girl's neighbors start disappearing one by one, Charlotte and her family find themselves in a desperate situation where they have to fight for their lives against a bloodthirsty spider that loves human flesh.
