Summer of 1957. Former racing driver Enzo Ferrari is going through a crisis. Bankruptcy haunts the company he and his wife Laura started ten years ago. Their marriage experiences one trial after another: first the loss of their only son and legitimate heir, then the recognition and acceptance of Enzo's son born out of wedlock. To save the family business, Ferrari decides to take a risk and bet everything on the Mille Miglia, the iconic 1,000-mile race through Italy.
