After a family tragedy, young kung fu master Li Fan is forced to leave his home in Beijing and move to New York with his mother. Lee tries to put the past behind him and find his place among his new classmates. But, although he does not want to fight, troubles follow him everywhere. When a new friend needs his help, Lee enters a karate competition - but skill alone is not enough to win. Lee's teacher, Mr. Han, turns to the real Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso, for help. So, Lee discovers a new approach to fighting, combining two styles into one for a decisive match in the world of martial arts.
