The events take place in July 1941 in the city of Vinnytsia, which is already occupied by the fascists. The local population that did not have time to evacuate is under threat of physical destruction. The Jewish community is particularly suffering. Different destinies of people, among whom there is a little boy named Seven, who is hidden by her neighbor Marusya.
