50th year BC. The Empress of China has just been imprisoned after a coup d'état instigated by Deng Sing Qin, a traitorous prince. With the help of the Phoenician merchant Finalthesis and the faithful bodyguard Mai Wei, the only daughter of the empress, Princess Sas-Yi, flees to Gaul to seek help from two valiant warriors, Asterix and Obelix, who are endowed with superhuman strength thanks to a magic potion.
