California, 1970. While the youth practice free love and protest against the establishment and the Vietnam War, another secret struggle is unfolding underground. Veterinarian Lauren Gray searches for cryptids - creatures whose existence science denies - and protects them from evil eyes in the "Cryptozoo". But after unexpected guests in her reserve, the researcher thinks about opening the institution to the world - to teach people and fantastic creatures to coexist.
