The Mauritanian
The Mauritanian
The real story of a Guantanamo prisoner who spent 14 years behind bars. In the center of the plot is the Moorish Mohammed Ould Slahi. The US authorities suspect him of recruiting terrorists during the September 11 terrorist attacks. Without formal charges and the possibility of a defense in court, Slahi will be sent to prison. Only after 6 years, he gets the right to a lawyer, and lawyer Nancy Hollander and her assistant Teri Duncan enter the fight against the government machine. Thanks to their titanic work, it will be possible to reveal the shocking truth and prove that the human spirit cannot be restrained by any bars. The film is based on the autobiographical book "Guantanamo Diary".
