Grace has a perfect life. She is a successful psychotherapist who is about to publish her first book, has a devoted husband and a young son who attends an elite private school in New York. Suddenly, a gap opens up in her life: a violent death, her husband has disappeared somewhere, and instead of the person Grace thought she knew well, a series of terrible discoveries. Faced with public disaster, horrified by her failure to follow her own advice, Grace must tear apart one life to create another for herself and her son.
