Mud
Mud
This is a story about two fourteen-year-old boys, Ellis and Neckbone. They accidentally meet during one of their walks a man who is hiding on an island in the middle of Mississippi. His name is Mad and he easily charms teenagers with his frankness and directness. Mad sincerely believes in superstitions: shoes with crosses, a "lucky" shirt, which is more important to him than a gun and a fire, with the help of which you can drive away troubles. On the island, he is waiting to meet his beloved and dreams of escaping with her on a boat, since the police have declared him a wanted man after the murder he committed. Despite the fear of the stranger, the boys believe that he is a good person and begin to help him fix the boat. However, teenagers are not able to understand where is the truth and where is the lie in Mad's words. Why does he say one thing and do something completely different? The hunters for his head, who arrived in the town and started searching for him, have to stand in the way of Madu.
