Due to the economic collapse of an industrial town in rural Nevada, Fern packs up her van and hits the road. She studies life outside of normal society as a modern nomad. In director Chloe Zhao's third feature film, true nomads Linda May, Swanky and Bob Wells become Fern's mentors and companions as she explores the vast landscapes of the American West.
