A young and ambitious graduate of Harvard, married to a rich beauty, starts working in a law firm, where he was offered very good conditions. The payment for this was very expensive. It turned out that the firm served the most influential mafia clans of Chicago and all employees became hostages who no longer control their own lives. Those who tried to leave were killed. The graduate falls between two fires - on the one hand, the FBI is pressuring him, on the other hand, certain death awaits him at the hands of murderers.
