A young boy named Oscar defends his best friend Lou, and in the process kills her abusive father. This circumstance forces him to run away from his native rural town. Soon he learns love, gets acquainted with crime and corruption. 15 years have passed. Oscar has almost forgotten about his past and has become the leader of a group of lost children. When Lou moves to the same town in search of a better life, she takes a job with a greedy private detective. After coming across Oscar's outdated missing child report, Lou sets out to find the boy who saved her life.
