M - Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder

In one of the cities of Germany, the police got lost trying to find a maniac who killed several girls. The discovered evidence does not provide clues to the solution. Meanwhile, the killings continue. Residents of the city are gradually becoming paranoid - they are ready to execute anyone who starts talking to a child on the street, they start to suspect their neighbors ... The police conduct regular, but unsuccessful, raids with thieves' guns. The criminals, who are also frightened by the unprecedented brutality of the elusive maniac and annoyed by the increased police activity because of him, decide to catch and neutralize the maniac themselves.
