Katie Kane is the daughter of the owner of a private security company, who was disgraced and kicked out of the army. She returns to her native Gotham, deprived of Batman's protection - the Dark Knight disappeared without a trace three years ago. While a brutal gang is operating in the city, Katie, with the support of the brilliant Luke Fox, is forced to take on the protection of the innocent and become Batwoman.
