The events take place in an alternative universe. In the middle of the 20th century, 43 women, who had not been pregnant before, simultaneously give birth to babies endowed with superpowers. The newcomer, hiding under the guise of Sir Reginald Gargreaves, rescues seven newborns and creates the Umbrella Academy. Together, they use their talents to protect Earth.
