I Am the Night

Young Pat is the daughter of a white and African-American woman, living near Reno, Nevada, suffering from an alcoholic mother and facing rampant racism and other typical problems of 1960s America. Everything changes when she accidentally learns that her real name is Fauna Godel, and the woman she thought of as her mother took care of her twenty years ago. Fauna decides to do anything to find her biological parents, and journalist Jay Singletary helps her in this - a veteran of the Korean War, a drug addict and an adventurer, who also dreams of a different life.
