Matera is an ancient cave town, famous all over the world for the historic Sasi quarters, spread out in the intermountains of the Gravina di Matera. Walking through its streets is like reliving a long-forgotten past. The city was built right in the caves at different times and by different civilizations, starting with the Neolithic. Matera is the center of craft traditions and gastronomic culture, the cultural center of Europe in 2019. Today, this ancient city is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, proudly occupying the first step in all possible guidebooks. The tape will tell us the history of the city, where millennia-old traditions, science and technology exist side by side and harmoniously complement each other, creating a real "time bridge" between the past and the future.
