Instant Dreams
Instant Dreams
Spectacular documentary film by Willem Baptiste. When Polaroid announced the end of production of its famous Polaroid cameras in 2008, a small group of enthusiasts bought out the last working factory. Among them is former scientist Steven Herchen, who previously collaborated with the inventor of Polaroid. He decided to unravel the secret of the lost chemical formula of photographic film and the Polaroid phenomenon in general. INSTANT DREAMS is a film about the impact of the Polaroid phenomenon on the future of photography and media, the contrast between the analog and digital eras of photography, and how they relate.
