Bernadette Fox was to become one of America's best and most interesting architects. The years passed, and the woman's priorities changed - for the last twenty years, she has been paying more attention to her family. Now Bernadette lives with a successful husband and daughter in the unloved city of Seattle. She has everything she needs for a comfortable life: a loving family, a cozy house, money. But still, a woman cannot be called happy - and all because she cannot find herself. For this purpose, Bernadette is ready to take the desperate step of running away from home to go on a project in Antarctica.
