The story of old Amandus, who due to Alzheimer's disease becomes a hero and the culprit of various troubles, causing a lot of trouble to his household. Finally, his loving granddaughter learns that the parents intend to send Amandus to a nursing home. Upset by this decision, the girl runs away with her sick grandfather to Venice, where he once spent the happiest days of his youth.
