День перемоги
День перемоги
In Berlin's Treptow Park, Russian-speaking emigrants and local supporters of the Communist Party of Germany celebrate May 9 - Victory Day. With flags and St. George's ribbons, they came to lay flowers at the largest military memorial outside the CIS to the fallen Soviet soldiers in the Great Patriotic War. The director contrasts this motley crowd with the silent and majestic figures on the memorial bas-reliefs. In the frame and behind the frame, Soviet songs about the end of the war are heard almost non-stop, but not everyone in the film agrees that this war has exhausted itself. Where does nostalgia, commemoration of the dead end and a new circle of militarization begins?
