The young idealist Michael receives the coveted position of coordinator in the humanitarian program of the United Nations. He is sent to post-war Iraq, which is now being torn apart by government agents and representatives of powerful oil corporations. His boss, who knows the region from the inside - the diplomat Pasha, helps him settle in a new place and get to grips with things. The more Michael learns, the stronger the suspicions of a big conspiracy at the highest level. To open it means to put his own life and the life of his mentor and the Kurdish woman he loves under attack.
