Fifteen-year-old Helena from a family of circus performers often dreams of breaking out of this environment and living a normal life. After another quarrel with her parents, who are making their own plans for her future, Helena's mother falls seriously ill, and the girl blames herself for it. On the eve of a serious operation that must be done by the mother, Helena dreams of a strange world in which two queens, bizarre creatures and residents in masks live. However, all is not well in this country - the white queen is also seriously ill, and only the Mirror Mask, which the girl will have to find, can save her. Eventually, the main character begins to doubt that she is actually sleeping...
