Long Echo
Long Echo
The film depicts the town of Dobropillia, in eastern Ukraine - 70 km from the border with the breakaway republics - and some of its people amid the war. The characters are inventive and fascinating, despite their many difficulties: they created a singles club, build a zoo with chameleons, play in heavy metal bands and drive a taxi. It shows people on the fringes of war, how it changed their daily lives and how people respond to their new and old needs. Their struggle for survival is sometimes characterized by quirky moments that give the film an unexpected lightness.
