Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse
Painting the Modern Garden: Monet to Matisse
Claude Monet was one of the most famous gardeners in world art and, as a result, the most important figure in the history of painting dedicated to gardens. But he was far from alone in his enthusiasm - masters such as Van Gogh, Bonnard, Sargent and Matisse also saw it as a worthy object for their artistic works. The works of these great artists, as well as many others, are presented in a new thematic exhibition, which was organized by the Cleveland Museum of Art in association with the Royal Academy in London.
