Thirteen-year-old Francois' father is released after five years in prison for robbery. Together with his friend and accomplice Fauconye and with the support of his wife, he takes up his old business again - skillfully opening safes. Although the parents initially hide their occupation from François and his younger sister Martina, the children soon learn about everything and take the most active part in the preparation of new robberies. One day, François becomes curious and, by means of blackmail, forces him to take action. Everything goes smoothly, and soon he becomes a permanent member of the family business...
