The Alienist

At the end of the 19th century, in 1896, New York is shocked by a series of brutal murders: in the slums of the city, children are killed, each time more and more sophisticatedly - as if some bloody ritual is being performed. The investigation is conducted by a bright team: the future president, and for now the police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt, the outstanding psychologist-alienist (he studies mental pathologies) Laszlo Kreitzler and the reporter of the criminal chronicle John Skyler Moore.
