La danseuse
La danseuse
New York, 1887, young Maria-Louisa dreams of conquering America - becoming a great actress. While performing on stage, she gets tangled up in her dress, but miraculously avoids falling by continuing to twirl in the delicate fabric. Shocked viewers witness a historical moment - this is how modernism was born. Maria-Louisa became Loi Fuller - an electric fairy, an icon, a burning symbol of a generation. The new muse of the Lumière brothers and Toulouse-Lautrec is now also the star of a famous cabaret in Paris, and her butterfly dance will be shown at the Grand Opera. But fame is not everything. Loya Fuller's chance meeting with the young Isadora Duncan jeopardizes her difficult love with her patron and the very essence of the new art direction she invented.
