The action of the series takes place in 1985 in the suburbs of New Jersey, where the country club "Red Oaks" is located. The main character is a college student, David Myers, who works as an assistant at the club. This is how he discovers a new life for himself, his first loves and growing up, trying to establish a relationship with his family along the way.
