The program of the film festival, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the memory of this tragedy, included masterpieces of world cinema, awarded in different years with awards from the American Film Academy. The festival opens with "Ida" by Pavel Pawlikovsky, the best foreign language film of 2015 according to the American Film Academy. Also in the program is the debut of the Hungarian director László Nemes "Son of Saul", which received the "Oscar-2016" for the best film in a foreign language and the Grand Prix of the Cannes Film Festival. "Life is Beautiful", a film by Italian director Roberto Benigni, won three Oscars in 1999. The famous Roman Polanski's "The Pianist" won three Oscars in 2003. Steven Spielberg's "Schindler's List" won seven golden statuettes from the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1994.
