A black streak has come in Catherine's life: her father, a famous artist whose affairs she managed, died; her boyfriend James left her. To regain her strength, Catherine goes to the lake house of her best friend Virginia, but the memories of her time there with James do not leave her. Catherine tries to reconnect with Virginia, but Virginia spends more and more time with her new crush, local boy Rich, and the relationship between the two women begins to fray.
