Bachelor and desperate love interest Charlie Harper agrees to give shelter to his brother Alan, who has run away from family troubles. Alan is going through a divorce from his selfish wife who, with the help of her lawyer, has appropriated the family home and is starting to extract child support from poor Alan. And so two brothers get along in a luxurious estate located in Malibu on the very shore of the ocean.
