La vita è bella
Italian tragicomedy. Starring Roberto Benigni, Nicoletta Braschi. Immediately after its release, the picture received wide international recognition. In 1998, the film was awarded the Grand Prix of the Cannes Film Festival, in the same year the film was presented at the Oscars in seven nominations ("Best Music", "Best Actor", "Best Film", "Best Foreign Film", "Best Screenplay", "Best Direction", "Best Editing"). Roberto Benigni received two Oscar statuettes as the Best Actor and as the director of the Best Foreign Film, Nicola Piovani received the Oscar for the music of the film. Part of the film was shot in Arezzo, the director's homeland.
