The strict and uncompromising police commissioner Hubert Fiorentino (Renault) one day learns that his beloved from Japan has died and that he has a daughter. Her mother, who was a secret agent, left her an inheritance of 200 million dollars. The girl is being hunted by the Japanese gangsters who killed her mother, but the appearance of Hubert destroys the criminals' plans... Director Kravchyk is not working under Besson's leadership for the first time ("Taxi 2"). The author of "Nikita" and "Leon" was only the producer of the film, the idea of ​​which was offered to him by Reno, but critics recognized this crime comedy as "one hundred percent Besson." Due to the September terrorist attacks in the USA, the final scene of the tape was changed: the hijacking of the plane turned into a bank robbery. "Wasabi" is a good "action" farce, which may interest fans of Reno and "Besson's cinematography".
