Duran Duran Unstaged
Duran Duran Unstaged
The cult group of the 80s of the 20th century presents to the court of the audience a video recording of their concert held at the Mayan Theater in Los Angeles on March 23, 2011. The famous maestro David Lynch acted as director of this significant event. Filmed in black and white, the concert gives the impression of a real work of art. The English group Duran Duran became a true pioneer in such musical genres as synth-pop and new wave. In the 80s, it was one of the most popular British groups in the world. Over the course of their nearly 35-year career, the musicians released 15 albums that sold a total of over 120 million copies. The concert, which became the basis for our music film, took place as part of the All Your Need is Now Tour, dedicated to the promotion of the group's fourteenth album of the same name. However, this video work is interesting not only with great music. David Lynch, who directed it, is known for his original feature films with a mysterious, sometimes absurd plot, inside which there is often a second or even a third meaning. Right off the bat, we can think of such blockbusters as Mulholland Drive, Twin Peaks and Highway to Nowhere. And in this work, the influence of Lynch is very noticeable. For example, all kinds of effects of burning flames or billowing smoke, filmed in advance, are periodically superimposed on the black-and-white picture of the show. This gives the effect of some kind of surreality and allows you to look at Duran Duran's music from a different angle. Sausages being grilled on a barbecue grill, we can watch during the performance of the band's most famous song, Come Undone. This and many other moments force us to see in the songs certain images from dreams, which, perhaps, were not invested by the musicians in the meaning of their songs, but definitely make them a little brighter. You can enjoy truly beautiful surround sound and a stylish video series by watching the movie in theaters starting from March 17.
