Auschwitz, 1944. Saul Auslander is a Jewish prisoner and member of the Sonderkommando. His job is to accompany the prisoners who arrive at the camp on a short journey. Then - clean the traces of their presence and wait for new ones. Among thousands of people passing through the gas chamber, one survives for a few minutes. Saul recognizes his son in him and decides to bury the body according to all the rules. A rebellion is brewing in the camp, Saul becomes too vulnerable, but all he can think about is the son... he may never have had. He previously worked on the short films "With a Little Patience" (2007) and "A Gentleman Takes a Vacation" (2010). The film was shot in a very short time - 28 days. All outdoor scenes were shot in natural light. The film was presented for the first time at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15, 2015, where the film received as many as 4 awards. After that, almost the whole world managed to see the tape. On January 10, 2016, Lasor Nemesha's work won the Golden Globe as "Best Foreign Language Film". On February 28 of the same year, the picture won the "Oscar" award in the same category. In Ukraine, the film was already presented on July 12, 2015 at the Odesa Film Festival.
