Simindis kundzuli
Simindis kundzuli
The plot unfolds on a small island in the middle of the Inguri River, which flows between Georgia and Abkhazia. An old Abkhaz man, together with his granddaughter, grows corn here. Loneliness is the main character of the story, disturbed only by the visits of border guards from both sides. There are very few dialogues in the film. Everything "revolves" around the island. However, thanks to an extraordinary production, the director manages to keep the attention of the audience. In essence, this is a contemplative tape. However, at the same time, there is an atmosphere of tension and uncertainty. The character of the granddaughter is particularly mysterious. The director very delicately depicts the transition from childhood to adolescence.
