Il conformista

Everyone wants to be a law-abiding person, but if the state in which you live is criminal, then your obedience involuntarily turns into a crime. Such is the price of conformity that Dr. Marcello Clerici is forced to pay, who receives an order from the fascist authorities to go to France in order to organize and carry out the liquidation of an Italian anti-fascist professor. While completing the task, Marcello realizes a striking similarity between state violence and the sexual violence he suffered as a child.
