Chappie
Chappie
Fantastic action from the director of the spectacular "Elysium" Neil Blokamp. As a child, Chappie is adopted by a very unusual family, he grows up to be a capable, kind and sensitive... robot. Chappie's strength and intelligence are of interest to the mafia group. Their goal is to use the car in their criminal activities. Read more The film "Chappie the Robot", as was the case with "The Ninth District" (2009), was originally a short film released in 2004. This, one might say, was a test of the director's pen in working with the future style. Neil wrote the script for the futuristic drama together with his wife Terri Tatchell, who had previously helped him in writing stories. The team started shooting the tape at the end of October 2013, taking Johannesburg (South Africa). They ended in February next year. However, some scenes were reshot in April, for which the film crew went to British Columbia (Canada). For Sharlto Copley, "Robot Chappie" became the third joint work with Neill Blomkamp. And all because they are old friends, since high school. The situation is similar with the friends of director José Pablo Cantilla and Brandon Ore, who could previously be seen in "The Ninth District" and "Elysium". Copley "played" Chappie himself. The motion capture technology used to create Gorlum in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy was used. One of the notable moments of the film is the participation of Die Antwoord. This is a South African group working in the genre of hip-hop/rap-rave, fans of the director's works.
