The author of the text was none other than "Michael from Escape", aka actor Wentworth Miller. Moreover, the script of "Stoker" became the first in the list of the best unrealized scripts of 2010. However, the project was launched by chance. For the actor, this script work was the first, inspired by Alfred Hitchcock's film "Shadow of a Doubt". "Stoker" was filmed in just 40 days, which is certainly not a record, but it is a rather small number. For the Korean Park Chan-wook, this film became the first English-language project in his career. For many, Park Chan-wook is primarily known for his Revenge trilogy, which included "Sympathy for Mr. Revenge," "Sympathy for Mrs. Revenge," and "Oldboy." Initially, it was planned to take Jodie Foster and Carey Mulligan for the main female roles. The role of Charlie Stoker was originally given to Colin Firth, but in the end the character was played by Matthew Hood. Wentworth Miller himself once admitted that when writing the script, he imagined Hood. The main composer of the thriller is Clint Mansell, but the minimalist composer Philip Glass also worked on the music. The latter wrote a melody that was played on the piano by the heroes of Vasikovskaya and Huda.
