Acting as screenwriters, as they do, the directors were inspired to work on "Inside Llewyn Davis" by the publication of David Van Ronko. The main part of the filming, according to the character's travel history, was carried out in New York, which was stylized to the 60s with the help of artists. The starting points for some events of the tape were clubs, cafes and personalities that really existed. For example, Gerde's Folk City club was involved in this way. The cast is "supported" by John Goodman, who, as always happens with him in Cohen's films, played a secondary character.
