The eccentric owner of a magical toy store, Edward Magorium (Hoffman), is going to retire from business due to his health - after all, his 243rd birthday has hit. Mr. Magorium, for 114 years of managing the store, managed to turn it into the most charming and colorful place on earth, where children's laughter was always heard. He decides to entrust his unusual enterprise to employee-manager Molly Mahoney (Portman). Molly is a 25-year-old girl. And although her life is full of joy and surprises, the girl suffers from depression. As a result, her depressed state of mind leads to the fact that the previously loud and lively store turns into a gray and sad place that is on the verge of closing...the story is just beginning.
