Dead Man
Dead Man
A mesmerizing, almost mystical ballad, distinguished by the perfect harmony of the plot (and the pace of its development), image (black and white), music and selection of actors. After the death of his parents, a young accountant, William Blake (Depp), comes to the Wild West in the hope of a job, where, by a twist of fate, a $500 bounty is placed on his head. Wounded in the chest near the heart, he comes out an Indian, who for many years was carried around the cities of America and England as a living exhibit. He mistook this bespectacled young man for the poet William Blake, whose poems struck a chord with the "savage" and became his guardian angel.
