Una giornata particolare
On May 6, 1938, when Hitler was in Rome to meet Mussolini, Antonietta's entire large family, including her husband (an employee of one of the fascist ministries) and their six children, went to a ceremonial parade dedicated to this visit. Antonietta, burdened with domestic concerns, stays at home, although she is an ardent supporter of Mussolini. By chance, Antonietta's pet bird flies out of its cage and sits at the window of the neighbor Gabriel, an anti-fascist with unconventional sexual orientation. Antonietta appears at his door, asking to be let in to the bird. That's how they get to know each other. Despite the diametrically opposite political positions, they are drawn to each other and make love, but at the end of the parade they are forced to part. The family returns to her, and they come to him in the evening to be deported to Sardinia because of his political views and homosexuality.
